Foundation President Named Citizen of the Year Jean Ohman, President of the San Ramon Historic Foundation, was selected by the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce to be the 2007 Citizen of the Year. The award was announced while Jean was traveling, and Carol Lopez, SRHF board member and former Citizen of the Year, accepted the award for Jean at the Chamber dinner on January 17. Read more.... Education Program Resumes Once again eager third grade students, parent volunteers and teachers are spending a half-day at Forest Homes Farms to learn about daily life on a farm. The program includes a docent led tour of the property featuring a large tractor display. Read more.... Gift Shoppe to Open at Forest Home Farms The grand opening of the Foundation’s newest fund raising project is scheduled for April 26. The new gift shop will share a building with the welcome/information center. The building is the newly restored Foreman’s house to the left as you enter Forest Home Farms. Read more.... Sheep Shearing Day Come celebrate spring at Forest Home Farm's Sheep Shearing Day. Watch the sheep get their spring 'haircuts' by professional sheep shearer, Russ Duguid. Join in the festivities with wool spinners, wood turners, woodcarvers, quilters and more. Enjoy the entertainment, a kids craft area, old fashioned games and tours of the farm. Read more.... Crab Feed Sells Out Two hundred and fifty happy crab eaters gathered at the Dougherty Station Community Center to enjoy a feast of fresh crab, hot pasta, salad, bread and dessert. The sold out event was the result of the hard work of Carol Lopez and Dee Tuohy. Read more....
